Local 2023 Grant Awardees
Annually, the Cancer Foundation grants a maximum of 15% of its available funds to support cancer related programs in Santa Barbara County. This has included a variety of programs at UCSB as well as pediatric cancer research at Cottage Health.

Outreach
In 2023, the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara provided its inaugural grant award of $12,000 to Santa Ynez Valley (SYV) Community Outreach. Funds help support the Meals on Wheels program for cancer patients who reside in the Santa Ynez Valley, including the communities of Santa Ynez, Solvang, Ballard, Buellton, Los Olivos and Los Alamos. The efforts of the Santa Ynez Valley staff and volunteers ensure access to meals prepared to meet the unique nutritional needs of oncology patients. With a focus primarily on soups, heartier fare is also offered as well as meals of soup, salad and bread for caregivers. SYV Community Outreach believes that nutrition is the key to health and they focus on developing easy and delicious options.
