It all started with a gift…
The Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara was founded in 1949 with a gift. In memory of his wife, Elisha Converse donated a one-million-volt x-ray machine to treat cancer patients in Santa Barbara, one of only seven in the United States at that time. With this gift, he founded a 64-year history of cutting edge cancer care on the central coast.
The Cancer Foundation continues to partner with visionary benefactors to deliver outstanding cancer care while pioneering a future where we tailor each patient’s treatment to their genetic code while continuing to deliver the same level of outstanding cancer care to everyone in Santa Barbara regardless of means.
Benefactor support has had a profound impact in transforming the Cancer Foundation into the leading cancer provider on the central coast. A gift to the Cancer Foundation will continue this tradition, now and for future generations. We invite your support and look forward to turning your dreams of cancer care into reality.
